Choose Life goes Rage!

27th Feb

I challenged a friend who is obsessed with music, I collect those kind of friends it seems, to produce a show for Choose Life.

Bicey came up with a couple of lists and his flatmate Mel has a list too. Stay tuned for more guest programmers selections.

For this show I played Bicey's "Rock" list. It was brilliant, he had done the research for me too.

Here is the "Bicey Rocks Choose Life" running sheet!

  1. Let's go crazy - Prince (I had to play some of his songs slightly out of order for technical reasons, no seriously, I did!)
  2. Get it on - The Power Station
  3. Far side of crazy - Wall of Voodoo
  4. Women - Def Leppard
  5. Friday on my mind - Gary Moore
  6. Nothin but a good time - Poison (Have you SEEN "the Rock of Love?" All comments and opinions I would think would be obvious! OMG!)
  7. All fired up - Pat Benetar
  8. We close our eyes - Go West
  9. Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
  10. Girls, girls, girls - Motley Crue (not my choice so you will hear no opinions from me!)
  11. Here I go again - Whitesnake
  12. Eruption - Van Halen (played after I signed off)
  13. Bad Medicine - Bon Jovi
Ok, so a different choice of songs to what I would normally play and that was precisely what I was after.
Thanks to the Bice Man!
So Excellent!!

Too many songs, not enough time!

20th Feb

Yes, it's another Wednesday.

  1. Rio - Duran Duran
  2. Shy Boy - Bananarama
  3. To cut a long story short - Spandau Ballet (their first single)
  4. Train of thought - Aha (a song about existentialism if you can believe it.)
  5. Trust Me - I'm Talking (Kate Ceberano and Zan who's surname I can never remember unless I look it up. I wonder what she is up to these days?)
  6. Don't talk to strangers - Rick Springfield (wish I had seen him at the Countdown Spectacular 2!)
  7. Don't go - Yazoo
  8. The Riddle - Nik Kershaw
  9. Love's great adventure - Ultravox
  10. Union of the Snake - Duran Duran (a song my fellow 80's partner in music has never heard.)
  11. Somebody's Baby - Jackson Browne (from the "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" soundtrack - it's late, I might have that wrong....)
I had in mind a synthesizer style of music as my theme for this show as it seems so much modern music has gone that way again. (Rogue Traders, Cut Copy, Mylo, need I go on??)

As usual I included a couple of Australian artists in the mix although much less synthesised than the others and Jackson Browne at the end to ease listeners back into the usual Roxfm playlist.
